Updated: Jan 12, 2022

Monday, January 18, 2021

County Commissioner Robert Weinroth speaks at the 2020 MLK Jr. Day celebration.

A tradition for racial harmony continues in 2021, as the City of Boca Raton and

DISC present the 27th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration. You are invited to join us at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 18, to remember the values Dr. King lived for, died for, and called all Americans to aspire to in our daily lives. In response to the COVID-19 protocols, the program will be offered this year in a virtual format, screening on the Boca Raton Recreation Facebook page, the City of Boca Raton YouTube Channel, and on the following local television channels-- Comcast Xfinity Channel 20, AT&T Channel 99, and Hotwire Channel 395.

The program will include music and dance, speeches by local leaders, a special presentation of the annual DISC Humanitarian Award, and more! Following the Ceremony, children ages 5-12 are invited to pick up a special "Unity in the Community" giveaway bag filled with activities and other goodies in honor of the holiday. Check back here for more information in early January; information is also available on the City of Boca Raton website: https://fl-bocaraton.civicplus.com/1468/MLK-Jr-Day.
